MyLuxair is Luxair’s redesigned personal account, offering users a seamless way to manage bookings, personal data, and loyalty rewards. It was designed to support business travelers, frequent flyers, and casual holiday-makers alike.
The platform combines simplicity with personalization, enhancing the overall customer journey. It empowers users to take full control of their travel experience with ease and confidence.
The old Luxair personal account lacked functionality and user engagement, offering only static, repetitive content.
The redesign aimed to transform it into an intuitive, interactive space for booking management, loyalty rewards, and personal data.
By interviewing different traveler types, I uncovered key user needs: easy booking management, loyalty tracking, and a seamless profile experience.
These insights shaped a personal area designed to be functional, intuitive, and truly valuable throughout the user journey.
I designed and tested MyLuxair through detailed wireframes and prototypes, focusing on intuitive booking management and profile features.
The final high-fidelity prototype delivered a polished, accessible experience aligned with Luxair’s brand and user needs.
This project demonstrated the power of turning a static space into a dynamic, user-focused ecosystem, driving higher engagement, more direct booking actions, and stronger customer loyalty.
It also deepened my ability to balance clarity, simplicity, and business needs, transforming the personal account into a strategic touchpoint and laying the foundation for future personalization.
MyLuxair is the redesigned personal account area for Luxair users, created to offer a seamless, interactive hub where travelers can manage their bookings, personal information, loyalty rewards, and more all in one place.
Designed to enhance the entire customer journey, MyLuxair caters to the airline’s core audiences: business travelers seeking efficiency, frequent flyers wanting easy access to their travel history and casual holiday travelers who appreciate simplicity and personalized features.
The platform was built to feel “personal”, empowering users to take control of their travel experience with confidence and ease.
The previous Luxair personal account was outdated, offering static pages filled with repeated content, minimal functionality and no meaningful features to encourage user engagement beyond initial registration. Users had little reason to return, as the platform did not support any booking-related actions, personalized information, or loyalty incentives.
The goal of the redesign was to transform this experience into an interactive, intuitive and user-centric reserved area that simplified booking management, provided easy access to personal and travel information, and supported loyalty program integration.
Beyond improving usability, the project aimed to foster a stronger emotional connection with users, encouraging frequent interaction and long-term engagement all while maintaining Luxair’s professional, elegant, and trustworthy brand identity.
No visibility into booking history or upcoming flights.
No easy access to loyalty programs like HighFive.
Lack of valuable and engaging features after login.
Confusing and repetitive information.
Through informal interviews with frequent business travelers, mid-frequency commuters and occasional holiday flyers, I gathered insights into their core expectations:
This research phase helped me identify major pain points, such as the absence of useful features, confusing navigation, and the lack of reasons for users to return after signing up.
These findings laid the foundation for designing a personal area that was not only functional but that felt personal, practical, and valuable at every stage of the user’s journey.
I started the design for MyLuxair with detailed paper wireframes, focusing on logically organizing features while minimizing user effort.
After internal validation, I created digital wireframes with sections like “My Profile” for user data and settings and “My Bookings” for managing all reservations. I then built a low-fidelity interactive prototype to test key flows, such as updating data, tracking flights status, managing co-travelers, and retrieving missing flights. Usability testing revealed areas for improvement, including key actions like “Check-in” from the flight card and refining microcopy.
The final high-fidelity prototype aligned with Luxair’s design system, offering a polished, intuitive, and responsive experience with strong accessibility considerations, such as sufficient contrast, large tappable buttons and a table system for past flights.
This project reinforced the importance of designing interactive ecosystems rather than static spaces, demonstrating how a well-crafted personal account can directly drive customer retention and satisfaction.
Following the launch, we saw a significant increase in user registrations and more booking’s managing actions initiated directly from the personal area.
Positive internal feedback also led to the development of personalized offers and experiences based on user profile data. Through this project, I deepened my ability to balance clarity, simplicity, and business needs, turning a basic account into a strategic user touchpoint.
Moving forward, the plan is to enhance MyLuxair with personalized content, smarter recommendations, dynamic loyalty integrations, and a more refined notification system.
